Day 1: Chiang Rai to Pak Bang (approx. 150 km / 7 Hours)
- 05:00 – 05:30 AM: Pick up from your hotel in Chiang Rai by minivan.
- Transfer: A 2-hour drive to the border.
- 09:00 AM: The boat departs from the Houi Xai main pier.
- Morning Onboard: Enjoy complimentary tea, coffee, and fresh fruits served as the relaxing cruise begins.
- Cultural Stop: The boat makes a stop at an ethnic Lao village along the river, allowing you to observe the primitive and authentic way of life of the local people.
- Lunch: A hot lunch is served on board.
- Afternoon: Continue cruising down the Mekong.
- Arrival: Arrive at Pak Bang in the afternoon.
- Overnight Stay: Check-in at the Petchsokxai Hotel (or similar).
Day 2: Pak Bang to Luang Prabang (approx. 180 km / 8 Hours)
- Morning: A walk to the nearby local market is considered a “must-do.” Return to the hotel for breakfast.
- Check-out: Prepare for departure.
- 08:00 AM: The boat leaves the dock.
- Morning Stop: A stop is made at a riverside village prior to lunch.
- Lunch: Hot lunch served on board.
- Highlight Stop: Visit the famous Pak Ou Caves (Thousand Buddha Caves) just before reaching the final destination.
- 16:00 PM (approx): Arrival at the Luang Prabang main pier.
