Quick Bus Trip: Chiang Rai to Huay Xai

Due to Road Constructions Vans pick-up time will remain the same, but the wait time to get on the train will take longer than usual.

Trip Itinerary from Chiang Rai to Huay Xai

Here is the schedule for the trip for those that are traveling from Chiang Rai to Huay Xai, starting in morning and arriving to Huay Xai in the afternoon.

Starting off at (8:30 – 9:30 AM) You get picked up from your hotel in Chiang Rai at the per-arranged time, then will have a drive towards the Thai border town of Chiang Kong, it would be a comfortable 1.5 – 2 hour drive.

Once you reach the border, our staff will assist you in filling out your departure card and clearing Thai passport control.

After filling out the information, we will then guide you onto the shuttle bus ( ticket included) for the short ride across the Mekong River via the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge.

Upon arrival in Laos, our team will assist you with the Lao visa-on-arrival application and entry procedures, then once you have officially entered Laos, our service concludes, you will be perfectly positioned in Huay Xai to check into your guesthouse, buy your slow boat tickets, or arrange further transport.
