The Experience

Day 1: Chiang Mai to the Thai Border (Chiang Khong)

• 1.00–1.30 pm: Be picked up from your hotel in Chiang Mai in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle.
• ~1.30 pm – 7.00 pm: Enjoy the scenic 5-6 hour drive through the picturesque landscapes of Northern Thailand. The driver will make stops for refreshments and restrooms.
• Evening: Arrive in the quiet border town of Chiang Khong. Check into your accommodation (not included) and relax for the evening, ready for your journey into Laos the next morning.

Day 2: Border Crossing and High-Speed Train to Luang Prabang

• 7.00 am: After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the Chiang Khong border crossing.
• ~7.30 am: Complete Thai immigration formalities with the guidance of our team.
• ~8.00 am: Cross the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge via a shuttle bus to Huay Xai, Laos.
• ~8.30 am: Our Lao team will meet you and provide assistance with the Laos visa-on-arrival application.
• 9.00 am: Board a private transfer for the journey through Northern Laos to the Boten high-speed railway station.
• Afternoon: Arrive at the station, collect your pre-booked train ticket, and board the modern Laos-China train.
• Train Ride: Relax and enjoy the fast, comfortable, and scenic ride through tunnels and over bridges, cutting through the stunning Lao mountains.
• Arrival: Reach Luang Prabang station. The organized tour concludes upon arrival. You can easily find local transport like tuk-tuks or taxis waiting to take you to the city center.
